Many of you read in this week's newspaper that Encore Cinemas' Oakville location was victim to an overnight robbery.

While we continued to operate, our online ticket ordering and some of our electronic functions were disrupted.

Today, we're happy to say that we're 100 per cent back, and better than ever!

In addition to online ticket sales, great customer service and the best movie prices in town, we're offering even more: brand new movies every week, a special kids' craft corner, and our monthly Encore Movie Star magazine.

"It was a rough week, but the pride I feel in how the Encore team was able to get through it all makes it worthwhile," said Jeff Knoll, CEO of Film.ca and Encore Cinemas. "But most of all, I want to take a moment to thank all our guests who continued to enjoy BIG MOVIES at small prices while we worked to get all our services online again."

On Sunday morning, Encore Cinemas' Oakville location was robbed.

"We are working with police to identify and apprehend those responsible," said Jeff Knoll, CEO of Film.Ca and Ward 5 Councillor. "We have complete confidence in the abilities of Halton Regional Police to bring their investigation to a successful conclusion."

At the time of the robbery, no one was in the theatre and no one was injured. Normal operations began again on Sunday afternoon.

"I'd like to thank our staff for working through this upsetting incident and our suppliers for their assistance in continuing our operations," said Knoll. "Most of all, I'd like to thank our guests for standing by us through this difficult time and continuing to enjoy big movies at small prices with Encore Cinemas."

Internet ticketing and film.ca email addresses will be unavailable until Encore Cinemas is able to secure replacement equipment.
