Encore Supports YouthTarget.Ca to bring awareness to the impact of smoking in the movies

  Encore Cinemas is helping spread the word about the impacts of smoking in movies by supporting the new campaign by Halton Regions' Health Department  awareness campaign - YouthTarget.Ca

Movies that show smoking are recruiting new smokers for the tobacco industry.

• The more youth see smoking in movies, the more youth are likely to start.
• Movies with smoking have a greater impact on people than cigarette advertisements.
• Smoking in movies is a problem. 75% of movies rated PG-13 contain tobacco.
• Smoking remains the number one cause of preventable disease and death in Ontario.
  Tobacco industry products kill 13,000 people each year.
• Don't be a target! Be aware and spread the word to protect your friends and family.

Encore will be diplaying YouthTarget.Ca posters in both theatres, running their ads in our pre-show ad loop in Oakville and distributing free music download cards (limited quantities).
